    All items are TAX FREE （ no sales tax ） , and credit cards are accepted （ *Some booths accept cash only ） .

    Your proceeds will help cover the operating costs of the Dallas Supplementary School.

    骨粗しょう症とはよく聞く病名ですが、いったいどのような病気なのでしょうか？
    皆さんの中には、すでにお薬を服用している方もいらっしゃると思います。

    骨粗しょう症に関しては、クリニックでも多くの質問が寄せられます。

    -いつごろから始まるのですか？
    -日本の40歳になる友達が骨粗しょう症の検査を受けて、薬を処方されたと聞きました。アメリカでも同じような検査を受けることができるのでしょうか？
    -母が骨粗しょう症ですが、私もなりますか？
    -先日、テレビで骨粗しょう症の薬を長く服用していると、あごの骨に異常が出たり、かえって骨折しやすくなったりすると聞きましたが、本当ですか？
    -骨粗しょう症の予防法はありますか？
    -日本の友達は、6か月に一度注射をするような治療を受けていると言っていますが、アメリカでも同じものがありますか？
    -骨粗しょう症になりやすいリスクファクター（危険因子）はありますか？
    -40歳で子宮筋腫が大きくなり、子宮を摘出しました。産婦人科の先生から、骨粗しょう症になりやすいので注意するように言われ、薬を処方されました。どうしてですか？ この薬は服用したほうがいいのでしょうか？
    -タバコを1日に5～6本吸っていますが、骨粗しょう症になりやすくなりますか？
    -子どものころから牛乳が苦手で、Lactose Intolerance（乳糖不耐症）と診断されていたのですが、カルシウム不足で骨粗しょう症になってしまうのでしょうか？
    -男性も骨粗しょう症になりますか？
    -すでに骨粗しょう症と診断されています。将来、骨折などをして寝たきりになってしまうのが怖いのですが、薬を服用する以外に、何か自分でできることはありますか？
    など、以上のような質問が多く寄せられています。

    骨粗しょう症は、骨の密度が低下する病気です。特に女性に多く、65歳以上の日本人女性の半数がかかっているといわれています。また、男性も70歳ぐらいから増えてきます。実際、統計上では、50歳以上の日本人女性の約25％が骨粗しょう症になっていると報告されています。

    次回は、骨粗しょう症の原因やリスクファクターなどについて、具体的にお話を進めていきたいと思います。
